# Credits

> Learn how credits work, what uses them, and how to manage your plan.

Credits are the unit of usage on Dopamine.
Every time an agent runs, it consumes credits based on the AI processing used.

## What uses credits

* chatting with an agent
* running a workflow
* trigger executions (scheduled, webhook, or messaging)
* Claw conversations

## Check your balance

Your current credit balance is shown at the bottom of the sidebar. You'll see a warning when you're running low.

## Refill credits

Go to [Pricing](https://dopamine.chat/pricing) to upgrade your plan or purchase additional credits.

If you are still shaping your setup, start with the [builder](https://dopamine.chat/builder) or [templates](https://dopamine.chat/templates) so you can estimate usage against a real workflow.

  Triggers that run frequently (for example, every minute) can use credits quickly. Start with a longer interval and adjust as needed.
